Oxjam is coming

Oxjam is a unique music festival idea first started by Oxfam Great Britain about two years ago. Since then it has grown in stature and has gained the support and assistance of many of today’s top bands in Ireland and the U.K.

Not since the launch of the hugely successful Cake Sale album has Oxfam Ireland undertaken such a huge musical venture.

Clive Gregson to give free songwriting workshop

Clive Gregson will give a free songwriting workshop as part of the Tain Festival weekend. It will take place in The Spirit Store on Georges Quay from 2 to 4pm. It will be followed by a gig in the Bartender on Park Street from 5 - 6.30.

Jackass Stars to play Tain Festival

Big Nasty aka SCREAM FOR ME featuring Chris Pontius, Loomis Falls and Scott Manning from Jackass/Wildboys will open the festival on Wednesday the 24th of October in The Spirit Store. A night of high octane rock and roll and audience participation is expected as the Jackass/ Wildboys crew take you somewhere you have never been before.

An Tain Theatre

Dundalk Town Hall Theatre has been refurbished with a state of the art sound and lighting system and new seating arrangements and all day booking office.

McManus Bar

This bar is situated in the oldest part of the town, established in 1894 it is steeped in history. McManus Pub has retained its original character and old Irish pub charm.

Number 32

No.32 will host three performances from the legendary Martin Stephenson on Friday 26th, Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th of October. Tickets are €50 and include dinner. They are available to purchase directly from the venue.

Attractively situated in a leafy corner of town near the museum, Susan Heraghty’s great little place is the neighbourhood restaurant par excellence and a great asset to Dundalk. It occupies a corner site, with windows all along one side giving it a sense of space - and more real space is available too, now that the first floor is also available for dining.

Riva Brasserie

This cosy and welcoming brasserie in the heart of the town will host a performance from the Organics at 9pm on Friday the 26th of October. Doors are at 8.30 and show time is 9pm sharp.

Sky Nightclub

Sky Nightclub is in the Park Inn Hotel Dundalk. It will host Alpha Omega on Saturday the 27th of October. Tickets are €12. Show time is from 10.30pm till 2.30am

The Phoenix Bar

Located slap-bang in the middle of town and always dressed for the occasion, the phoenix pub will be hosting several Trad sessions over the course of the weekend.

The Spirit Store

The North East's home of music. The Spirit Store is a pub focussed on the creative, cultural, musical and arts activities in Dundalk, Co. Louth, Ireland. It has been reconstructed from an existing premises on George's Quay, within the old town port and a fifteen minute walk from the town centre. At the Spirit Store television has no role, where LIVE music is played and session musicians are welcome. All Spirit Store shows over the Tain Festival weekend will have doors open at 8.30pm except for Sunday when doors are at 8. See you there.
